....this module is in windows/system32 and I'm running Windows XP home. I
have no idea what this module is and can't find any info on it. But I'm
suspecting it may be causing other problems. For instance, I'm trying to
install the latest JAVA Windows client, and it freezes before it completely
installs.

Any ideas???

Thanks!

A quick Google for nvsvcd.exe brings up a lot of links from people
needing help with spyware. That doesn't mean this particular file is
malware, but I would start by making sure your computer is 100%
virus/malware-free:

Sorry for the double-post, but you also might want to submit the file to
VirusTotal to see what they say:

nvsvcd.exe is probably some sort of malware.

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Do the same for whatever anti-spyware applications that you have.

Right click nvsvcd.exe in windows\system32 | Properties | Version tab

There should be a description on both General and Version tabs.

This info is part of the file and not all files have real good info.
Especially if it is spyware or a virus. Or whoever put it together was lazy
or secretive.

Version tab.

Click a category on the left to display the information on the right.

Other version information

Company

Internal Name
Language
