I'm getting an error message on my NVIDIA RIVA TNT Model 64/Model 64 Pro saying 'this device cannot start [code 10]. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Just as it says, Helen:

Code 10

This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have
all the drivers installed. (Code 10). Try upgrading the device drivers for
this device.

To resolve this error code, make sure the device is connected to the
computer correctly. For example, make sure all cables are plugged in fully
and that all adapter cards are properly seated.

Follow the suggested solution button and update the device driver. It may be
possible to remove the device and redetect it using the Add New Hardware
wizard.

Maybe. When I've gotten this error message with video adapters, it came
from a conflict in driver software. The solution was to clean the system of
all traces of the video drivers, set the video adapter to Standard VGA, then
reinstall the drivers.

There is a newsgroup dedicated to nvidia video adapters. I've seen
reference to utilities that will automatically remove nvidia video drivers.
In the newsgroup, it's not an uncommon problem.
