I have the "Nvidia GeForce4 MX 420" Video Card. I was able to get an
updated version of the driver with WHQL certification from Windows Update.
However, I cannot find that driver on the www.nvidia.com site. The driver
version I am looking for is "4.4.0.3" which was made available to the
public on 5/20/03.

I would like to download the driver in an application so I can install it
later if needed rather than go back to Windows Update to retrieve it in the
future.

Get free WinDrivers backup from http://www.jermar.com/. Handy to keep a backup of all your drivers.

Dont know if this is the answer you are looking for, and I
am not knocking windows, but I ALWAYS get my drivers from
the manufactorer or a supported source by them. I have
had problems with windows drivers for devices on my
computer and that is why I always go to the source. Also
look at the Detonator files (not sure of the source) But
they come highly recommended

I wouldn't think you are "knocking Windows" by writing that. Microsoft is
not primarily in the business of writing device drivers; they're just trying
to help Windows work on the widest variety of devices, and for that they
should be congratulated. For the most up to date device drivers, always go
to the device manufacturer.

Having said that, here are two things to keep in mind:
1. An OEM may prefer that you only use device drivers it has specifically
approved, for maximum compatibility.
2. It's not a good idea to upgrade to a newer device driver merely because
one is available. Sometimes drivers cause glitches, and even blue screens,
because of compatibility issues. It's better to update your drivers only if
your current drivers are causing problems, or if there is a cool new feature
that you want to use.

Thank for your help everyone. The link that has served me best was the link
posted by "mame". being able to back-up the drivers is the best solution
when you have drivers that working great but don't want the hassle of
hunting them down and downloading them again. I copied them all to a CD for
safe keeping.
