I've pretty much "reached" my WinXP Recovery Console as described below;
However even after doing the "bootcfg / rebuild" command on the Recovery
Console, I still can't boot my pc to show the Boot OS Menu at start-up...my
pc still boots automatically to only Windows 98 (Drive C) even after
boot.ini file (on Drive C) has already been "modified". Is there still
something I am missing??? or failing to execute??? What is the "Load Option"
part??? What else do I need to change?

E:\Windows>bootcfg /rebuild
Scanning all disks for Windows installations.
Please wait since this may take a while....

The Windows installation scan was successful.
Note: These results are stored statically for this session
If the disk configuration changes during this session,
in order to get an updated scan you must first reboot
the machine and then rescan the disks.

Total identified Windows installs: 2
[1]: D:\WINNT (i know this is my Win2000 installation)
Add installation to boot list? <Yes/No/All>
Enter Load Identifier:
Enter Load Option:

[2]: E:\WINDOWS (while this one is my WindowsXP install)
Add installation to boot list? <Yes/No/All>

Before i did the Recovery Console, my boot.ini file looked like this while
residing on Drive C:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"

Uhmmm...i tried it, and while it did restore the OS Boot Menu....I went back
to my original problem: "Invalid System Disk...Replace the disk and press
any key" when I choose to launch Windows 98 OS :(
Is there a fix for this?? How do I restore Win98 without Messing up the
other OSes?? I tried SYS C from the startup disk and that didnt work...

btw, my boot.ini file which still resides on C: looks pretty much like the
same as before, like the one below:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"

Try Fixboot C: first.

Try one more time.
Boot to the Recovery Console. If it gives you the option of plain
windows on C: choose it, otherwise specify the drive option on necessary
commands.
Chkdsk c: /r Note the space between the drive: and the /.
Fixboot c:
Bootcfg /list
Bootcfg /add or /rebuild depending on list results add the
fastdetect to 2000 and XP. Also, for gee whiz sake, anything can be used
between the " " for example "XPProSP2".
Additional thought, there wouldn't be a drive overlay program in use is
there, or GoBack? Like MaxBlast or Ez (?mind fart, Ez-bios?the WD one).
