on my license plate the zero has the / mark through the
sero designating the it is the zero and not the leter "O"
I had a friend show me how to get the degree sign º using
the alt key and type in 167 on the keypad. is there a
chart on other thing you can do that way or do have to
wait and see if I can find a program with what I'm looking
for........thanks gary

If you are using Word or just about any other
wordprocessing program, go to Insert|Symbol. This will
open a dialog box with lots of special characters to
choose from.

You can find the characters available in whatever font you're using at
Start/Programs/Accessories/SystemTools/Character Map

You want the Ø ? Just use the copy button in the Character Map program

Here's one for the nostalgic amoung us. Get yourself a
copy of Qbasic from an old machine, or off the net, and
use the help files. It's in there under ASCII CODES.
Holding alt and typing any of the numbers shown next to
the characters will work, unless you're using a font that
doesn't assign the old ASCII values to those symbols. Most
do tho.
