I am trying to number a series of paragraphs. But Word keeps numbering them for me. I'm trying to just number the paragraphs I want, in other words, 1. has two paragraphs, then 2. has two paragraphs. But word keeps numbering the two paragraphs in 1. Get what I mean? Is there a shortcut aroud this? I looked into the bullets and numbering dialog box, and I don't see anything there.

"Tools", "AutoCorrect Options", uncheck the option for "Automatic numbered
lists" on the "Autoformat as you type" TAB.

Try pressing "shift" and "enter" x2. Type your second paragraph. Then just enter as usual at the end of your second paragraph, and your numbering should resume.
