I want consecutive numbering in my header and consecutive next page numbering
in my footer. Like top page 1 and bottom -/2 indicating that 2 will be the
follwoing page
and so forth.

In the header insert a { page } field. In the footer, insert the following
field construction

{ If { page } <> { numpages } "-/{ = { page } + 1 }" "This is the last
page." }

You must use Ctrl+F9 to insert each pair of field delimiters { } and you use
Alt+F9 to toggle off their display.

It do not want anything to appear in the footer of the last page, delete the
This is the last page. from inside the quote marks, but leave the ""

Hope this helps.

Your readers won't be able to figure out on their own that 2 follows 1,
3 follows 2 etc?
