I am an amateur computer "fixer-upper", I am modifying a
new machine for a home business. They have 2 computers
that will share a wireless network in their houshold.
They got a copy of Windows XP PRo. It says on the COA "1-2
CPU" . Does that mean I can install and use the same COA
on both machines (legally). Or what does that mean. They
currently run Win 2000 pro on the older machine but for
consistency would like to make both systems the same OS.
Thank you, JAsonJunk

No, it does not.

1 - 2 CPUs refers to the number of processors supported by the operating
system in one physical computer.

Windows XP Professional can recognise up to two processors in one computer.

If they want to have XP on both computers, they'll have to purchase another
XP license.

Windows XP Pro is designed to run on a computer that
has either one (1) or two (2) CPUs (processors) installed.
It does not mean you can install it on two different computers
using the same Product Key (license).

Each installation of Windows XP, installed on a different
computer, requires its own unique license (Product Key),
otherwise Product Activation will fail on the second
installation.

If you don't know what a CPU is, then I wouldn't want you anywhere near *my*
system. A system is *NOT* a CPU. CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. How
can that be a system?!
