ntvdm using 99% of my CPU

My task manager shows that ntvdm is using 99% of my cpu.
When I instruct it to "end process", the computer runs
fine, much faster, and all of my applications work
perfectly.

How can I prevent the ntvdm from always using 99% of my
cpu? I tried deleting it from the "system32" folder (I
also copied it and the dll to a floppy just in case I
needed it), but it was automatically regenerated upon
reboot.

Bryan,

Correction to my prior post; is there a 16-Bit app trying to run on the
system?

Simply if you don't need this file to run and by the
sounds of it you don't

Start>RUN> type "msconfig" goto services tab and see if
it is listed in here if is uncheck it. Goto startup tab
again if it is in here uncheck it. Make sure that it
isn't running from Start>Programs>Startup if there are
icons in here make a note of them and delete.

This will stop 90% of things running

I opened the system configuration utility as you suggested
but there was no box about NTVDM on either of the Startup
or Services tab. There was a box under the System.ini and
Win.ini called msconfig for 16 bit application support. I
unchecked both of those but the NTVDM still rebooted. Any
other suggestions would be appreciated.
