Hi,
I am running a home PC with WinXP Pro and my ntuser.dat
file has reached almost 5 GB.
Is there a way to reduce it's size or move it to another
drive (for example D:)?

Thanks,
KID

This is, of course, the portion of the Windows Registry which is unique to
your user ID. I discourage going in to just start deleting stuff! (I've seen
more systems crash that way...). No, don't go moving it.

But if it can be reduced, the best and safest way I know is using the
excellent utility NTRegOpt by Lars Hederer. You can get information and
download links here: http://aumha.org/freeware.htm

Set a Restore Point before you start, and in the highly unlikely chance that
something goes wrong, be prepared to press F8 on the next startup and pick
the "last known good" option -- never hurts to know how to safe yourself
when the worst happens, though I've never known this utility to cause a
problem.
