Hello,
I tried to move our active directory to a new hardware. To do so, I
backuped the drives and the system stage, installed a new windows 2000
server with sp4 as used before, but without promoting this installation
to a dc. Then, I restored the system stage and the c: and d: drives,
with the settings to overwrite all files if asked. Now, after reboot,
during system start i get the message that ntoskrnl.exe is missing or
damaged and I'd have to install a new version of this file.
Can someone tell me what I did wrong or how it worked in your
installations? Do you have any experiences in moving an ad dc to a new
hardware? we have only a very small system, hence there shouldn't be to
many complications
Otherwise, can someone tell me how to install a new ntoskrnl to my
installation? Or any other workaround?
Thanks a lot
Oliver
