NTLDR missing

I installed a scanner. The Installation Wizard said it
needed to reboot and I said OK. Now I can't boot up. I
get a screen that says

NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

When I follow those directions guess what....I get the
same screen all over again. I found directions for people
who installed XP over Win 9x,ME, etc. but I didn't. XP
came on this computer - Lap Top Dell Inspiron 2600.

Anyone had this problem? Any solutions?

Best bet is to boot to your OEM Dell XP CD, try the

Recovery Console to replace the NTLDR file, or just do a
repair type re-install.
