I got a msg when i booted my computer that said "NTLDR is missing" so I got on my hubby's puter and created a start up disk and also included a copy of the NTLDR file and rebooted my computer. I got to the A> prompt but when i tried this command: copy ntldr c: I got another msg that said invalid drive specification. Now what do I do to get back to the C prompt and windows. I am using win XP. I also tried putting in my winxp cd and booted with that but it ignores that drive too.

Have you tried taking the floppy out of the drive when you boot the
computer??

Incidentally, it's quite possible that the problem machine is formatted
NTFS, so a startup diskette by itself won't be of any use at all; it won't
give access to the NTFS partition. The OP would have to boot from the CD
and use the repair console to get to both the floppy and the NTFS partition.

Of course, if the hard disk is actually FAT32, the problems are a little
different.
