I read at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
kbid=320397 that when this occurs I need a special tool
from Microsoft to fix it.

Well I would like to give my product ID but this is a new
install on a system with no operating system (it had been
formatted) and I cannot give them a product ID if it is
not installed.

SO how do I deal with this? Does anyone else have this
tool?

This message usually shows when you attempt to boot
the PC with a floppy disk in the disk drive. Remove it!

If this is not the case, describe exactly what's going
on, and give the recent history of the machine. Any tool
you may require to fix the problem is freely available
on the net but first you need to tell us much more about
your problem.

Sure no problem.

And yes I had the disc removed.

I had to get this computer out becaus eit had become a major security issue
at work.

This machine had NT4 on it previously. It had 2 partitions - one 2 gig and
the other 6 gig. There was another hard drive as well that had 14 gigs (D).

I brought the computer home, formatted the machine, stuck my Windows XP Pro
CD in and I received this error.

Thank you for any help!!

You must set the BIOS so that the CD drive is your
first boot device. Your machine will then boot from the
WinXP CD.
