I restarted my computer and now it won't load
windows, giving me the following prompt...

NTLDR is missing
press ctrl + alt + delete to restart

From what I've read this has something to do
with the file system and may occur when upgrading
windows. However, I wasn't upgrading or doing anything at
all besides restarting. I've been looking for the
Bcupdate2 utility which is rumored to fix the problem, but
I can't find it. Even if I could find it, how would I run
it? I can't even boot from my windows CD. Please help.
Thanks.

I wonder if this issue is going to crop up a lot with sp2. This jus
happened to my kids' pc after uninstalling some software. I did find
couple places to get the bcupdate2 utility:

(this posted 3 days ago by user illplaytoo on techsupportforum.com)
"http://qba.bryza.net/tmp/ and you can get bcupdate2.zip.
unzip then expand it to a floppy or cd.
Use a bootable XP floppy to start the computer and then run th
utility:
bcupdate2 c: /f"

(this posted by user poseidon on geek.com/news)
"...I eventually jumped through the right hoops and got microsoft t
mail me bcupdate2.exe. I have uploaded it to my webserver. Download i
here

2.exe"

but since I couldn't even boot to safe mode, a repair installation wa
the best fix in my case. You don't lose app's or data with thi
option.

i had this problem before... finally found out the reason i was getting this
message was because my processor fan crapped out on me and after replacing
the fan everything was fine and dandy
