NTFS disk fragmenting at accelerated rate

I just converted my file system from FAT32 to NTFS on my
Windows XP system. Since I've done this, the disk is
fragmenting at an accelerated rate. Goes from 100%
unfragemented to <90% everyday. I have not changed my
usage pattern on the computer. What could be causing this
problem?

Smaller cluster size may be a factor. An observation not a fact. If you have
a smaller cluster you will get more data in the same space on your disk.
Fragmentation is only one of many factors affecting system performance.

Hope this helps.

Peter,

What files are re-fragmenting? System Restore points are notorious for
quickly fragmenting.
