I have my DFS set up with one Dfs link, link1, that has
two replicas, foo and bar. But, the disk on which foo
replica resides fails, and I am forced to replace it with
a brand new disk. Does anybody know what is expected to
happen when I replace the failed disk with a new one? Will
all the data from bar be replicated to the new disk? or
because the new disk contains no data, NTFS thinks that
all its data has been deleted, thus all data on the other
replica, bar, will be deleted as well? What's the expected
behavior? Any ideas?

thanks,

Fari

I would tend to believe that the DFS replica would be rebuilt, provided you
created it with the same share name. Thats one of the major points of DFS,
load balancing and redundancy from disk failures.
