What was the stuff you removed, and how did you remove it?

What's the error message, and what do you see in your event logs?

Do you still have a functional network? You don't need to use any wizard for
this anyway, but if you can't start the wizard, it indicates a larger
underlying OS problem.

Have you tried system restore?

I removed some files in add/remove programs. I lost my peer to peer network,
both running XP Pro. Trying to get network back I have to run network wizard
on both PC's. I cannot start wizard on the PC that I removed files from. I
thought to re-install XP Pro from origional disc but it warns me the version
on disc is older than the one on my PC?? I can assume this would be to the
many updates I have done. Should I re-install XP Pro and then update it? I
have all my files already backed up on seperate external HD.

What exactly happened? Did you lose your network connections entirely in
control panel? Did you still have an IP address?

Yep - you probably are using a service pack that didn't come on the original
installation CD.

I don't think it will come down to that. As I mentioned, System Restore may
help you ....did you try it?

I wish I knew. My son and his friends, new to the internet had installed some programs I didn't want on my PC(TC2). I removed a few of what I thought were just the ones he had installed.
I can go to My Network Places and view my shared document folders on TC2, but when I tried to do the same with the other PC(TC1) it could not find the path.
I thought it would be simple just to run the network wizard on both to set
up a new connection. It worked on TC1 but when I tried TC2 I would click on
set up a home or small office network nothing happens.
I did try System Restore and that didn't help

OK - well, I suggest you set a good password on the administrator account,
set a good password on your admin-equivalent account, and set up a limited
user account for your son. And tell him you'll ground him til he's 18 if he
messes around again. :)

OK.

OK - see http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;825826 ...it should
help.
Also get a copy of Winsock Fix -
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4372.html - very useful.

Try both & post back!
