Hi

We are currently changing our Backup system and have decided to backup
romotely to external Hard drives. Currently NTBackup uses and manages Tapes
in the media Pool which I understand, and there is no option to select an
alternative destination, other than "file". I have had some experimental
backups to a remote drive, but this always fails because after about 4gigs of
backup, NTbackup on the server reports the media is full!!. thjis can't be as
the Drive is 160gig.

Do I need to change any settings on the server to allow for this, or Am I
better running Backup software from the remote location to back up our
server. This then opens a new set of questions I.E file permisions.

Please help

Regards

Phil

You must be backing up to a FAT32 volume, with a file size limit
of 5 GBytes. Convert it to NTFS!
