NTBackup starts at false time

Hi NG!

I have a problem with NTBackup.
I used to create automatic backup with AT scheduler.

My config line:

AT 2:00 /INTERACTIVE /EVERY:Mo,Di,Mi,Do,Fr,Sa,So "C:\sicherung.bat"


The file "sicherung.bat" looks as follow:

C:\WINNT\system32\NTBACKUP.EXE backup "@C:\Dokumente und
Einstellungen\zeus\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\Microsoft\Windows
NT\NTBackup\data\Gesamtsicherung.bks" /n "Medium Server" /d "Satz Server"
/v:no /r:no /rs:no /hc:on /m normal /j "Gesamtsicherung.job" /l:s /g
"ebe32215-e8f4-4d60-95ec-795c3e273532"

My problem is, that the backup doesn't start at 2:00. It starts at about
7.30.
When it has finished today, I can post the log file...

Has somebody a solution?

7.30.
When it has finished today, I can post the log file...

I suspect you had a previous instance of ntbackup that
had not finished. You can easily verify this, by adding
some simple diagnostic commands to your batch file:

@echo off
echo %date% %time% Start of backup job >c:\backup.log
ntbackup . . .
echo %date% %time% End of backup job >>c:\backup.log

Furthermore you should consider using the GUI of the Task
Scheduler to run your jobs. It gives you many options that
you do not have with at.exe. You will find it in the Control
Panel.

Yes, that might be true.

Well the problem is, that when I set up this via the GUI,
the automatic backup doesn't start. I tested this several times.
So I decided to do this via AT job.


Wenn tomorrow the backup has ended, I can post C:\backup.log.

Yes, timezone is correctly set up and Service Pack 4 is installed.
Also all Security Updates via Windows Update are installed.

In the meantime I wrote myself a program with QuickBasic 4.5 that starts
automatically the backup :-)
Works great (I tested it before many times)...
