You can use DHCP server to register downlevel clients in your DNS if your
clients use dhcp and can use your Windows DHCP server. It is not required
that your clients register in DNS, unless you have some kind of special
need.

I have a network with Windows Nt, UNix, linux and 2000 clients. I have
windows NT and Windows 2000 servers. I have DNS installed on a windows
2000 server and DHCP installed with WINS on a NT server. I have setup
2000 clients to register automatically in DNS.... I want to know what
I need to do in order for Windows NT to support Dynamic DNS... so that
NT clients and Unix/Linux machines register automatically in DNS.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Samira
