We are in the process of implementing Exchange and I'm
coming up with an unusual(?) error. Please bear with me,
and don't laugh. Most of the company is still running
Outlook 98 so I REALLY need help.
Here's my problem:
After running the Outlook 98 setup to install the
corporate/exchange workgroup option. I add the Exchange
service and then export the contents of their old pst to a
file and then import it into their new exchange box.
Everything seems to be fine with the Calendar, Tasks,
Contacts and Journal, but when checking the Inbox, or Sent
Items box, for each user, there seems to be several to
many pieces of mail, that opened fine in the old pst, that
won't open in the new Exchange box. It's always the same
error
"Can't open this item. Could not complete the operation
because theservice provider does not support it."
Does anyone have any idea what this means and how to fix
it. It appears to be very random. If I reopen the pst file
and forward the email to the new box, it opens fine. I'm
going crazy and have several hundred more conversions to
do. PLEASE HELP!
Also - it is happening in Outlook 98 and Outlook 2000
