I'm sorry I post new posts to respond to posts. I can't access this
group from microsoft so I use usenet to post. I can read from MS's newsgroup
but not post. Can the ntloader be altered to give an option to load another
OS? If so how?

People running Linux usually use the Grub boot loader.
As an alternative you could use XOSL. It's free.

nt loader works fine. Most Linux and BSD documentation includes notes
on how to copy the pbr and edit boot.ini.
