Hello everyone,
Looking for answers to my recent problem on my PC, i have stumbled onto
here, hoping for someone to give a hand in trying to find out why my PC
recently started to do this.
OK, the details.
On January 2nd my PC unexpectedly started to slow down and then all of a
sudden i received a popup alert informing me that the computer will be shut
down and to save anything...
When i rebooted, i went into event viewer and this is the error it gives..

This has since happened another 6 times. I really have not been able to see
any pattern on my usage so try and figure out what is causing this???
As an FYI,
my PC is a
P4 3.0
1GB Ram
Asus P4P800-SE
128mb Vid Card
80GB HDD for Pri M
LG DVD burner (Recently installed, ironically enough around the same time as
the problems started?) for Pri Slave
200GB HDD for Secondary CS
200GB HDD connected through USB2 in an HDD enclosure
WinXP SP1
I use dial up as we do not have High Speed in our area. The PC is connected
to a house Network via 192.168.X.X with little to no restrictions or
security in place. The other PC is a PIII 850 running 2003 Server. I have
mappings from my office PC to two 160GB HDDs.
Since i work from home allot, i have allot of applications on my office PC
(Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver/Flash,etc....)
I use Zone Alarm Pro 5.0.590 for security, along with TC Active 3.0 and TC
monitor 2.0.
As i type this, my CPU usage just shot up to 50% and under processes, there
is a svchost.exe process sitting at 50..
I really need help on this. I do not want to do another reformat, as i just
did one over Xmas because of a lingering virus that i got infected with.....
Any suggestions at all as to what i can do to pin point the problem?
Any suggestion as to what i can do to resolve it?
