Hi

Windows 2000 is NT 5.0, Windows XP is NT 5.1

Under the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
\Windows NT\CurrentVersion, take a look a the value data
for the CurrentVersion value.

OK I have an MCSE here that says there is no such thing. I know NT 4 is NT 4
and NT 5.0 is Win2k but also the kernel as with XP type winver at the
command prompt etc... and it's NT 5 plus the build.
NT 5 is the kernel more or less and different than NT 4 for things like
imaging etc...

Yes. It was marketed and sold under the name "Windows 2000."
