Hello,
I just returned from vacation & it appeared as if my desktop rebooted
itself because of a serious error (don't have the particulars there).
All of a sudden, I cannot connect to the internet from the desktop now
(connected through a LAN cable going to my SMC 2804 WBR). The weird
thing is that all my laptops are still functioning fine wirelessly
over that same router.
My desktop shows it still has full connection (100 Mbps) & I can still
control my router through it so there doesn't seem to be any
connectivity issue.
My TCP/IP settings are still set to automatically configure.
My LAN settings are set to automatically detect & to not use a proxy
server.
The one thing that seemed different is that in the Local Area
Connection Properties Authentication tab, the IEEE 802.1x
authentication was checked & set to Smart Cart or other Certificate.
Don't remember that being the case.
Not sure if there might have been some Windows update recently that
changed any settings???
Would definitely appreciate any help or any clarifying questions that
might help me figure this out.
Thanks!
Chris
