I've just replaced my hard drive and now my firewall, antivirus and network
connection are not displayed in the notification area when my system starts
can anyone help

Start > Run and type in

msconfig

Are the items related to these applications checked?

For the FW and AV:
Open the apps and check their options for a checkbox to show in systray.

For the network:
Right click My Network Places.
Click Properties.
Right click your network/connection.
Click Properties.
Under the General tab select "Show icon in notification....".
Click Apply > Ok.

systray when I open the apps there icon shows in the systray but not when I
