Nothing in Printers and Faxes Window

My fax and printers are working properly, but I can't see
anything in the printers and faxes window of my xp
installation. Also when printing there is no printer icon
on my taskbar and I can't open the printer tasks window.
Any idea?
 
Suddenly my printers and Faxes folder emtied out too.
Stuff was there yesterday! When I try to add a printer,
I get an error message.
