I am ready to pull out my hair!

I'm having trouble with Internet Explorer, especially when I am in the MSN
groups. When I click to reply to a post or to start a new discussion,
nothing happens. This also happens within some web pages as well as if I
receive an email with a link inside.

I did everything from the Knowledge base article "You cannot open New
Internet Explorer Window or nothing happens after you click a link"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=281679

I really don't know what else to try. Suggestions anyone, please?

Thanks.

Windows Update has some goodies for you which *may* fix your problem as a
side-effect. Please disable your anti-virus application and close all other
running processes *before* going to Windows Update.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Start | Run and type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

I tried everything as you outlined below, but I am still having the same
problems.

Thanks for trying though .....
