Notes attached to tasks, contacts aren't visible? Outlook 2007

Notes that I create in tasks and contacts don't appear in list view (yes, I
have selected notes from the field chooser) Anyone else having this problem
 
Have you turned on AutoPreview on the View menu?

It kind of helps. But there are still notes that don't even show when auto
preview is turned on. Moreover, when I select notes as a field to show in
list view only some notes are displayed and others are not. In particular,
notes created under Outlook 2003 are visible but those notes created under
2007 are not.
