Notepad problem. double clicking on txt file doesn't work

Notepad problem. double clicking on txt file doesn't work. I 've tried
Tools - Folder Options - File Types. Txt files are already associated
with notepad. Any help is appreciated!!!

You also tried a right-click|OPEN WITH|CHOOSE PROGRAM|Notepad...
and checkmarking the "always use" box?
 
Thanks for the help!!!

I really couldn't get the notepad problem fixed using the registry
edit from kelly-korner(line 305), I just associated all my text files
with Wordpad and everything works fine and dandy now
