Since upgrading to Windows XP (home for some computers,
XP Professional for others), I've run into a change in
how NOTEPAD handles text.

When I copy/cut from notepad and past into e.g. a textbox
online, into MS Word, into an email (Outlook or Eudora),
into a LiveJournal text box, etc.... the text that looks
fine in Notepad ends up having MANY line breaks in it
after being copied.

Is there ANY WAY to get Notepad to format as it used to --
as straight ASCII text?

Thanks.

Check your word-wrap setting.

Yes, I've toggled it both ways and the same results
happen. When I paste from it, it's like there is an
added blank line between text lines. This is happening
on more than one computer, so i don't think it's a fluke!

Next time you do a Save As in it, check the drop down at the bottom is
on ANSI encoding

Thanks. I did check this. However, when I just tested
again (copied it below), this is what results....

Any other ideas? I used to use notepad all the time to
draft everything from HTML code to other notes, etc...
and when I cut and paste now, it really messes things up
to have the extra hard returns/linebreaks/something put
in.
