A couple of months after buying a Asus A3L notebook I start having problems
with USB devices, notably optical mouse supplied by Asus, pen drive and so
on. What happens is that they seem to be recognized at startup but after
Windows starts booting, the led in the optical mouse lights off. To have them
recognized, I have to suspend it and then put it on working afterwards.

I've talked to the local support line and they told me to install the
Restore CD. I did it, everything worked fine during 2 days in which I've
installed updated drivers, current software and Windows Update. On the 3rd
day everything went back to the same.

I've already deactivate Power Saving in USB roots, went through the
bootlog.txt and nothing did solve it.

Any advices ?

TIA

This site has patches for specific devices, chipsets, etc. It mentions
WinME but is actually the XP page. Press Ctrl/F and do a Find for your
specific device. Also search for your mobo, etc..
