I seem to remember there is a way to insert a
note/asterix/number in the top right corner of a cell
container a number for explanation purposes. I don't want
to use the "comment" function as this cannot be seen.
Adding an extra collum close to the number would solve the
problem, but the other funtion would be more usefull.

this sounds like the comment function!. What do you mean with 'cannot

I mean when I print it out it would be nice to have a way
to mark a cell with e.g."1" and then attach an explanation
to that cell at the bottom of a table ..

Using "comment" will only allow me to see it.

possible with comments
goto 'File - Page setup - Sheet' and choose your option for the comment
listbox (also includes an option for the 'bottom of your page')
