Since i've switch to Linux, all of the network connection and monthly
system hiccups have disappeared. Thanks Suse.

Strange that you should say that, because I have used Windows exclusively at
home and have no network connection or monthly system problems..

Good for you!

This old dog is too old to be learning complicated
new tricks such as Lixux. I'll stay with Uncle Bill's
offerings--hiccups, warts, and all.

What has this got to do with Windows XP? Aren't there any Linux
Newsgroups to broadcast that your Linux problems have finally been
resolved?

My experience with my personal Windows systems has been like that for
several years. My experience with Linux (Fedora Core 3/4) has also been
painless. Windows troubles are a lack of skill on the users part,
mostly. The reason most people running linx has fewer problems is that
it mostly requires a higher technical skill to run/maintain a Linux box,
so it means you will often have a better setup than the typical home
user running Windows.

but in this particular instance his problems are blantantly apparent to
everyone but himself.

Hmmmm... That's strange, I have had the same experience as Mike Hall. What
were you doing wrong? Surely if you can master Suse networking, XP's
networking would be child's play.
You probably are just a new Linux evangelist trolling the Windows newsgroups
looking to stir up new converts.
Hint, next time use a better example of what you see as why a computer user
should switch to Suse Linux.

You're not a killjoy...just a very sad little troll.

Not a very imaginative one at that.

Why don't you simple go somewhere where you are wanted.

Like saying you switched from Linux to Windows. Means nothing in either
case unless you describe the specific problem(s), indicate which versions of
Linux and Windows were installed at the time. You did indicate a Suse
version of Linux, but not which version of Suse. You did not indicate what
version of Windows was installed or any subsequent SP if installed.

Linux has come a long way as most is already built into the install package.
Like various versions of windows, there's some specific makers hardware that
may not work out of the box.

You're trying to tell us that you couldn't learn to configure and use
some other unnamed OS (presumably either MacOS or another Linux distro,
as no Windows OS I've ever seen had "network connection and monthly
system hiccups"), but that you could learn to configure and use SUSE
Linux? That's nice, I suppose, but why would you think we'd care?

So what you're saying is you're an incompetent Windows network admin?

Not that you're quite probably correct, but, you might note that the OP
*never* mentioned that he'd switched from any version of Windows. For
all we know, he switched from MacOS or Redhat to SUSE.

While true, if Windows wasn't involved, this would be completely off
topic even as a troll.
