Not seeing HD during boot

Not seeing hard drive during boot...

The power cord came out of the wall socket during
shutdown and upon rebooting the OS (XP pro) doen not see
the HD. How can I fix this without reinstalling the OS?

If the computer isn't seeing the drive, you've probably got a hardware
issue. Reinstalling the OS wouldn't be an option, as the computer wouldn't
see the hard drive to reinstall onto.

On the other hand, if that's not what you mean....perhaps you can explain
what "doen not see the HD" means.
