I have been getting "not responding" messages more and more-so I decided to
reload Windows XP and start again- Unfortunately when I inserted the disc...
I got the same message. Any advice
Thanks

What "non-responding" messages are you referring to?
Remember that we cannot see you PC, hence the
message you quote is meaningless unless you take the
time and explain exactly under what circumstances you
see it.

The computer is "hanging". If it hangs at this stage, then
the problem is usually hardware. Start by checking that all
of the connections to the hardware and the hardware themselves
are "good". This includes the power connects, cable connects,
peripheral card insertions, RAM insertions, etc. Also, how
is the CPU fan functioning and are the fins of the heatsink
clear? And the hard drive can also be suspect, depending at
what point the Windows XP re-install got hanged.
