Not recognizing drive A

My computer is not finding drive A (floppy disk drive). I went into "my
computer" and when I didn't see it there, I went into Microsoft Word to see
if I could open a file from Drive A, but it couldn't find it there either!!!
So what am I doing wrong, or how do I find this drive? Thanks!
 
Hi,

Control Panel/System/Hardware tab, click on Device Manager, is it seen here?
How about in the system BIOS at bootup?
