Mike

i have just installed outlook 2003 on a Win XP Pro
machine it was upgraded from Outlook XP. Now its not
receiving mail all the settings seem correct as checked
with another machine. It will send but not recieve. TIA.
hoping that someone can shed some light on this and point
me in the right direction MIKE
BTW all firewalls have been disabled

having exactly the same problem. if I "send/receive this
folder" it will bring the mail in but that is the only
way I can get it to work. All settings seem perfect in my
system as well.

ihave just installed it on a server machine and it works fine......... just
d/l the service packs, maybe that will help

Hi Mike,

As you were able to send fine and unable to receive,
check if there is any large message in your inbox as if
there is any large message in the inbox that is trying to
dowload you get to this situation, you can login in webm
ail and delete the mail or move it to a different folder,
also if you have entered the correct pop servers. If you
still have this problem, give the exact error message you
are getting, that would be much helpful.

Check your Incoming Server info.

Click on Tools, Options, Mail Setup (TAB), Email
Accounts, Select 'View or change existing email
accounts', click Next, select the Account you're using
and click on Change.

Internet Email Settings should open. There, check your
server settings and test it with Test Account Settings.

You should be able to resolve it from there.

Hope this helps.

Andy

I just installed Outlook 2003 with Win XP Home and have a
very similar problem. It will not receive when I start
the application; I have to use the Tools->Send/Receive
option. I have checked the settings and cannot find
anything out of line.
