I have a good formatted 31/2 floppy, but when I go to
open it I keep getting a megs. "The disk in drive A is
not Formatted do you want to format it now"

It's a known problem with XP. There is a microsoft bulleton about it but I
don't have the address. Try putting the disc in a Win9x computer and see if
you can read it. To get the disc read in XP you have to format it on an xp
computer.

I've had several floppies created back in the days of DOS and they read fine
in XP. It's more likely that the floppy drive head has gone out of
alignment or that the disk is bad.

No. its like that on all PC's
