Hi all,

I have recently upgraded from Outlook 2000 to 2003 and am experiencing a
problem such that I only receive notifications (envelope icon in system
tray) when a new mail arrives directly in my inbox after a server side rule
has been applied.

I am aware of the fact that desktop alerts will only work when applied to a
specific rule and that they can only run as a client side rule I am only
really concerned in seeing the envelope icon.

All of the rules that I had in Outlook 2000 used to work fine as a server
side rule and I would still be issued notification, however, since upgrading
they have ceased to work - I have some server side rules running on the
exchange server (Exchange box is running NT4 Exchange 5.5) that deliver mail
to sub folders, when these are run I never see the notification.

I wondered if anyone else had experienced this and found a fix or whether it
is a known fault that will be fixed with the next service pack?

If I have been unclear in any way feel free to contact me direct on the
email address I used to post this with.

Any help would be much appreciated, Cheers, Dan.

I have the same problem.... and rigth now the only solution i have, is to set up (on every role) that you want a notifikation when there is new mail...... But if you do that... you have to "click" the notifikation window away..
