I have Outlook 2002.

I recently recreated a new Outlook.pst file (thanks to
one of you guys here) and am able to use Outlook again.
However, when I am writing an e-mail and click on "To:",
I get this message:

"The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts
Folder associated with this address list could not be
opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not
have permissions."

Any ideas?? I restored the content in my Contact list by
synching it with a third party program and my online
phone list (which had been created by exporting data from
Outlook).

Please refer to my reply under:
'Error message accessing addressbook'.

Hope it helps. It sounds like the same problem.

Thanks Gary. Regarding #1, that box is checked.

Number 2 brings me closer to the solution, I think, but I
don't know how to do what I think I need to do.

When I right-click on Contacts and select Properties, I
get this error message: "The address list could not be
displayed. The Contacts folder could not be opened; it
may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have
permission."

When I click OK in that window, a small window opens
entitled "Address Book". When I click on the arrow
underneath the heading "Show names from the:" I see that
there is an Outlook Address Book, and underneath it there
are five individual listings for "Contacts". It seems
that I need to delete four of those, but I haven't a clue
how to do that.
