It may be that there are no such tools.

Thanks Graham, But I'm trying to transcribe and translate old Norsk,
and so far, even my human translators seem stumped. A translating
tool might help me bootstrap my way through the task using multiple
trial-and-error iterations. If I can't get Bokmal or Nynorsk, even
a Danish-to-English translation tool might help. Any ideas?

There are no translation tools that even come close to the services
of a human translator. You may be able to translate to get the gist
of a document but to translate to a usable document you need a
human touch.

JoAnn, Yep. I tried Google -- there were a lot of 'close but no
cigar' hits. I found user interfaces, and proof readers that don't
seem quite the translating tool I'm after, some good products but
in languages I'm not after, and some dictionaries for Mac. The
search goes on.

Probably - did you try Google?

I just upgraded to Office 2003 (Professional Edition). Is there
sofware I could add so that I can use Word 2003 to translate
Norwegian text, particularly Nynorsk, to English?
