Norton Internet Security 2005 puts a Toolbar into Outlook (Office 2000) that
has four buttons, one of which says "This is not Spam". It always stays
"grayed out" and thus i cannot click on it in order to indentify something as
not spam. Does anybody out there know how to cure this? Norton is of no
help.

Thanks

Alas, if Symantec is no help (and Norton is their product), I'm not sure
what to tell you, as this isn't an Outlook issue. Are you sure the product
is supposed to work on Outlook 2000? That's an old & no longer supported
version of Outlook.

I'd google, look for Symantec user forums, etc. for more help on this issue
if you don't find someone in here who has experienced & fixed this.

That button only works in the Norton Spam Folder. If you never mark anything
as 'This is Spam,' it will not filter out anything. When a message goes to
your Junk Mail folder mark it as Spam and Norton will move it to the Norton
folder. Keep doing that to train Norton anti spam.

Did you ever find the answer to this question because I am having the same
problem. Every time I hit the "THis is spam" or t"his is not spam" button,
the little gray box appears, says its initializing, then freezes and I have
to forcequit outlook. I Ever single time! ts very annoying. Did you learn how
to fix it?

I'm not even able to get a "this is" or "this is not spam" button on my
toolbar - any suggestions?

Why are you asking Microsoft about a Norton problem? Go to Norton's site and ask them how to do it.
