I just performed a clean install upgrde to Windows XP
from Windows 98SE. I am now installing my software with
satisfactory success. I have not installed Norton
SystemWorks 2003 yet. I am very apprehensive. I know I
need an Antivirus software. But I am not sure of the
compatibility of NSW 2003 or if I need the package all
together. Does Windows XP provide all the peformance and
maintenance that NSW has provided me in the past?

Hi,

Norton SystemWorks 2003 will run happily on XP (see link
below):

Whether you want to install the complete product is up toy
you and your level of computer knowledge.

I personally used to have this product but now only run
the Antivirus. I prefer to solve issues myself and find
that SystemWorks installs far too much for what I need.

I would recommend to use the Antivirus and ensure you have
a Firewall (e.g. ZoneALarm). If you have fairly basic
computer understanding then go ahead and install it. The
product is not bad and has some nice features.

Tim

Hi
Norton System Works is completely compatible with Windows
XP. If you elect to install only the anti-virus portion,
you might experience some difficulties. I did, but I do
not remember enough to say what they were. They did have
something to do with not having removed every vestige of
Norton Anti-Virus 2002 from my machine and the fact that
I wanted to install only the anti-virus portion of System
Works. I resorted to installing Norton Anti-Virus from a
standalone disc and running System Works from the disc
(my preference for using System Works) after I removed
all instances of Norton Anti-Virus 2002.

I don't know if you were addressing George or me, but you
posted under my post. So, I will respond to you with a
question. "I don't have one." Why is that? I think
your answer would be more interesting than George's or
mine.
