I just did a reformat & re-installed XP home edition. Now
whenever I try to install my Norton System Works 2003 Pro.
things get really screwed-up. I am not able to access
help&support, system information, user account in the
control panel comes up but the window is blank + other
things I probably havrny found.
When I say try to install I mean it will not install. Live
update says there is a problem & will not be available &
eveything else tries to install but then aborts sometimes
giving the error message -12 which says I must have
administative privaledges to install. I am the only user
so I am the anmin.
It worked fine before the re-install & the only way I
seem to be able to fix fhe problem is to re-install
Windows. Now I am flying without an anti-virus program
until I can get NSW to work. (I have tried istalling just
NAV & it still screws up everything)
Am I the only one with this problem & does anyone have any
suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just went throught some of the same problems with
Norton System Works and Antivirus. I went to the Norton
Symantec web site and download multiple "how to" files
about installing the software. They tell you how to
Uninstall Norton, including any orphan files on the
drive. They then have several suggestions about preparing
for the installation, including a "clean boot", deleting
temp files, emptying recycle bins. It worked for me. I
can't remember exactly where I was on Symantec's site but
you should be able to find it.
