I saw some posts complaining about norton...

I cannot agree more... NortonBugs combating with VistaBugs is not nice...
at least have the vistabugs by themelves :-)

here is a norton removal tool in case anyone wants to ditch it. (vista
compatible)

ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

Now all we need is a VistaRemovalTool.exe hehehe

the programs it will remove:

Norton Removal Tool is a program that can remove some Norton software from
your computer. Norton Removal Tool runs on Windows 2000/XP/Vista. Norton
Removal Tool should be used only if you have tried to uninstall the Norton
program using Windows Add/Remove Programs and that did not work.

Will Norton Removal Tool work for you?
Norton Removal Tool will remove these--and only these--Norton programs:
* Norton AntiSpam 2004/2005
* Norton AntiVirus 2003 through 2007.2
* Ghost 2003, Ghost Version 9.0 and 10.0
* Norton GoBack 3.1 through 4.2
* Norton Internet Security 2003 through 2007.2
* Norton Password Manager
* Norton Personal Firewall 2003 through 2006
* Norton SystemWorks 2003 through 2007
* Norton Confidential Online 2007
* Norton Internet Security Add-on Pack
* Norton Save and Restore 1.0
* Norton 360

I get my NIS free with my broadband provider, so difficult to ditch it
really. I have been surprised at how little resources NIS 2007 uses. They
have dunped a few of the bloaty bits. Once ZA free arrives I might well go
back to it though. AVG is fine free too.

Absolutely my experience too -- and Norton 360 which I tried in the
Public Beta is well behaved too.

I'm running NIS2007 on three installations XP Home, XP Pro and VISTA
Business and do not find it a problem -- quite unlike 2006 versions.
