I am helping my niece with her new laptop getting ready for school and we
are having a minor problem.
Her new laptop has windows XP professional and Norton AV. In addition to the
administrator we created a limited profile for her however when she logs on
with the limited profile Norton either does not load, or if it does, the
icon on the taskbar by the clock is grayed out. We cannot change any of the
Norton settings while in logged on as the limited user plus on shutdown the
error appears that windows needs to close Norton and the file is not
responding. If we change the limited profile to administrator everything
loads up and works normally! Is there a solution to this one? Thanks for all
the help.

Here is a link to the Symantec KB:

I haven't used NAV with a 'limited user' account. Have you tried to set the
person for Power User? (use the Admin account for this)
Right click My Computer and choose manage.
Under System Tools, drop down the Local Users and Groups section.
Select the Groups
In the right window pane, double click Power User
Select the <Add...> button and add the 'limited user' to make them a 'power
user'.

Be carefull because the Power User has rights to make changes to the computer.
