Norton AV 2005 problems

I recently installed Norton Antivirus 2005 running Windows XP Pro. Now,
whenever I have an internet connection open I am getting kicked out of
my active window periodically - about every two minutes. No other
window becomes active. Anybody else experiencing this? Symantec blames
Microsoft who blames Dell who blames them both.
 
It is probably not the Norton product. Hundreds of thousands of people use
Norton with no problem.
If it is causing problems, then it is a situation unique to your computer,
perhaps a problem/conflict with other software installed.

Since you give no additional information about how you connect (dial-up,
cable, DSL), and who your provider is, it will be very hard to diagnose. I
would recommend contacting your ISP for assistance. (By default, many times
they blame AV software, when that software is not to blame).

I manage a network of well over 200 computers, all of them run NAV, and not
a single one of them behaves as you describe.

Thanks for your reply. I connect via Earthlink DSL. Had not thought of
contacting Earthlink since this only started immediately after
installing the NAV 2005. I had an earlier version of NAV and had no
problems.
