Norton is about the most difficult product to uninstall. To really
uninstall you need to spend ages searching for remnants in the registry.

I personally use the free AVG product. Not as pretty but it is a 4MB
download, doesn't F*** up your computer and it works.

Open Norton Anti-virus. Have you tried Help and Support and selecting Help
and Support. The selection takes you to a support web site.

I had a problem when I initially installed Norton Anti-virus 2004,
Auto-Protect not working. Following the Help and Support problem sequence
lead to the need to download and run sevinst.exe to correct the problem.

As I never use the Norton email scan, I do not know if the fix to one will
fix both.

also try disabling Norton and restarting. A few times Norton shuts itself
down and tells me to reinstalling, giving various error messages. It
functions okay though after a restart.
